Wanda Maximoff, otherwise known as the Scarlet Witch, used her reality warping powers to create twin sons, unknowingly, from two (of five) scattered fragments of a demon's soul which were previously lost to him in an ill-fated encounter. But when the boys' souls were reabsorbed into Mephisto, because of the power Wanda put into the soul fragments, they ultimately destroyed him and their souls were reincarnated as Thomas Shepherd and William Kaplan. However, they were split from their mother and from each other in the process, now inhabiting separate bodies and living with different families with no recollection of their past lives.

Billy grew up as a typical New Yorker. And he never had a problem being different than other people. It was other people that had a problem with him. His loving adoptive parents, as a pair of doctors, took an active role in Billy’s education, making sure he had the best and most expensive schooling available. As well as a surplus of extracurricular activities where they could fit them in. They also traveled frequently during the summer, often on humanitarian trips, so he's seen far more of the world than your typical elementary student, including many of the world’s injustices.

His grades were always impeccable despite him transferring out of several (prestige) high schools due to him being targeted. He was viewed as a "flamboyant" gay teenager by the majority of his ignorant and spiteful classmates. But rather than stand up for himself, Billy was always the type to just let his bullies go. Because in his mind, if they were beating up on him, they were letting someone else go. And to him, that was the best way to go. One bully in particular really had it in for him. John Kesler. It happened fairly regularly, Billy would go home with a bloody lip or a black eye from Kesler's 'tender' ministrations. He tried his best to avoid Kesler as best as he could, until he caught Kesler beating on someone smaller one day. Billy yelled for Kesler to stop. John turned around and began giving the same old treatment to Billy until he just couldn't take it anymore and something within him snapped. Throwing his hand up to block Kesler's fist, lightning began to crackle around Billy's form. It struck Kesler a few times, before Billy was able to pull it back in. And it was in this very moment that his mutant abilities took hold for the first time.

˚ . ★ ⁺ ┊ nov 01, 2013 ⇢  PRINCE TEDDY  :

Billy has had several crushes, flings, and short-term relationships with various males - all of whom were secretive about their sexuality - over the course of his teenage years. But none of those connections ever made real impact, nor were they bonds that he ached to keep. This all changed when he stumbled into a guy by the name of Teddy Altman during a birthday bash that he decided to entertain one friday night. Billy has never been one to conform to cliche's such as "love-at-first-sight" but it only took one conversation for the mutant to decide that this guy was unlike anyone he's ever met before. Unlucky for him, he was unable to cross paths with this handsome stranger, for a second time, despite his many attempts to relocate him. But little did he know that he'd not only stumble on Teddy after he moved to korea - a year later - but that he'd end up becoming his roommate too.

Fast forward a year, Billy has left New York to start anew in Korea. He goes against his parents advice to continue their 'family legacy' by entering medical school after finishing his bachelor's degree in biological science in two years rather than the standard four. He knew that he only slaved away, hours on end, to obtain a certified degree to appease his goal-driven parents. But he also knew that he needed to do something for himself for the first time in his life.

˚ . ★ ⁺ ┊ MAY 25, 2015 ⇢  an avenger  :

He was approached by a young man in an Iron Man-esque suit with a proposal he couldn't refuse. And from that moment on, Billy chose to use his powers to help innocent people. He created a costume, an amalgamation of thor-like elements, and began using his belief in himself to power his newfound abilities. He discovered, through training, that though he could do a few things naturally, and that he also had a talent at spell-casting, even if it was done very oddly.

Now that he has several years of experience of working under the guise of a "young avenger", Billy and the rest of his teammates have decided to temporarily put their fruitful vigilante activities on the back burner so they can focus on bettering themselves as individuals; to give them time to plan out their future wedding(s). And so, when his nose isn't glued to his wedding planner, he works as an overly excitable nail technician at a nail art studio called "Nailed it!".

First and foremost Billy is, at the core, a nice kid. He's sweet, he's kind of sensitive, he's cheeky, and he has a great sense of humor. Sometimes he can be overly serious, but in general it's a situational thing. He also happens to be a fanboy / nerd. And growing up, he's been nothing if not passionate about various forms of entertainment, his favorite being the comic medium. He is a bit of a hard-head too. And more often than not, he'll run into a dangerous situation with little more than a half-baked plan and a hope that things will come out okay. He's passionate about what he believes in, and becomes disappointed whenever a hero he's idolized doesn't live up to expectations. However, his passionate personality also leaves him a bit sensitive to the issues around him. He tries to hide this behind a wall of snarky commentary to make up for this, but he can become compassionate when needed.
